28 Jul
Summary
- Smriti Irani resumed work 3 days after giving birth to her son
- Continued filming after suffering a miscarriage, despite doctors' concerns
- Replaced on her talk show 'Kuch Dil Se' while hospitalized after childbirth

In a recent interview, actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani has revealed the challenges she faced during her television career, particularly related to her maternity leaves. Irani shared that she resumed work on the popular show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' just 3 days after giving birth to her son, as the audience expected a new episode every evening.
Irani also recounted a heartbreaking experience of continuing to film after suffering a miscarriage. While the producer granted her a week's leave, the show's daily schedule meant she had to return to work, with someone from the production team even questioning her absence.
At the height of her television career, Irani faced further setbacks. While hospitalized after giving birth, she was abruptly replaced on her SAB TV talk show 'Kuch Dil Se', despite having pre-recorded enough episodes to cover a one-month maternity break. Irani was informed of her termination while in the hospital, with the production team bringing in a more prominent film actor to replace her.
Despite the challenges, Irani is now set to return to the small screen with the new version of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', which premieres on StarPlus and JioHotstar on July 29.
