Shahid Kapoor Leads Vishal Bhardwaj's Gritty Crime Thriller 'Romeo'

In a major casting development, Tamannaah Bhatia has joined Shahid Kapoor for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming directorial, 'Romeo', a gritty action-thriller. The film, which marks Bhardwaj's return to the genre of morally complex protagonists, went on floors earlier this year and is currently in the final leg of production.

According to industry sources, 'Romeo' is Vishal Bhardwaj's most commercial film yet, mounted like a stylized gangster drama with high emotional stakes. Shahid Kapoor plays a character with layered shades, and Tamannaah's casting was a strategic decision to bring a fresh dynamic to the story. The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda in key supporting roles.

Tamannaah's role is said to influence the plot at crucial turning points, and her presence is expected to bring both weight and reach to the project, given her massive fanbase across languages.
