Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne Reunite for Platonic Season 2 on Apple TV+

In a recent development, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are set to reprise their roles in the second season of the Apple TV+ comedy series Platonic. The show, which premiered last year, was initially conceived as an anthology, with the intention of replacing the two lead actors in future seasons. However, after the overwhelming success of the first season, the creators, Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, have decided to keep Rogen and Byrne as the main stars.

Rogen, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, revealed that he had been pushing for the creators to find a way to continue the story with the same lead actors. "As we were shooting the first season, I was kind of pushing for [Stoller and Delbanco] to brainstorm how it could continue and how to not replace us with other people, and thank god they listened," he said at the Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday.

The Platonic stars have a proven track record of on-screen chemistry, having previously played a married couple in the 2014 film Neighbors and its 2016 sequel, both of which were directed by Stoller. When asked about the possibility of their Neighbors co-star Zac Efron making an appearance in Platonic, Byrne expressed enthusiasm, stating, "I don't understand why that hasn't come to fruition yet. Now I have it in my head that's what we need to do."
