Paramount+ Renews Hit Oil Drama 'Landman' for Rapid Season 2 Premiere

Paramount+ is wasting no time in bringing back its hit oil industry drama 'Landman' for a second season. The network has confirmed that the series, created by Taylor Sheridan, will return on November 16, 2025, just 10 months after the conclusion of its first season.

The quick turnaround is notable in the current streaming landscape, where many shows take over a year between seasons. However, 'Landman' has proven to be a breakout success for Paramount+, becoming the platform's most-watched original series in its debut season with 35 million global viewers.

In addition to the rapid renewal, the show will also see a major cast addition for its upcoming episodes. Sam Elliott, known for his work in Sheridan's '1883', is set to join the ensemble, which includes returning stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Ali Larter.

'Landman' is set in the oil-rich boomtowns of West Texas, exploring the lives of both roughneck workers and wealthy tycoons. The series examines the complex web of corporate and personal relationships within the industry, as well as the broader impact of oil booms on the economy, climate, and global politics.

The quick return of 'Landman' comes on the heels of another Sheridan production, 'Tulsa King', which is also set to premiere its third season in September 2025. This rapid production schedule stands in contrast to some of Sheridan's earlier works, like 'Yellowstone', which had longer gaps between seasons.
