28 Jul
Summary
- 'Law & Order' revived in 2022 for season 21

- Several major cast departures ahead of season 25

As the 2025-2026 TV season approaches, the revived "Law & Order" series is set to celebrate a major milestone – its 25th season. The flagship show, which follows both the police and prosecutors in the New York criminal justice system, originally premiered in 1990 and ran for 20 seasons before being revived in 2022.
Since the reboot's debut two years ago, the cast has undergone significant changes. While Hugh Dancy and Odelya Halevi, who play Executive Assistant District Attorney Nolan Price and Assistant District Attorney Samantha Maroun respectively, are expected to return, several other key players have departed the show. This includes Mechad Brooks, who portrayed Senior Detective Jalen Shaw, and Jeffrey Donovan, who played Frank Cosgrove.
The upcoming 25th season will see the show continue to evolve, with Maura Tierney set to reprise her role as Lieutenant Jessica Brady after the exit of Camryn Manheim's character. Additionally, Tony Goldwyn will return as District Attorney Nicholas Baxter, taking over the position from the departing Sam Waterson.
As "Law & Order" celebrates this milestone, fans can anticipate a fresh take on the long-running police and legal drama, with a mix of familiar faces and new additions to the cast.
