According to the latest box office data, the Jackie Chan-led thriller "The Shadow's Edge" has climbed to the top of the Chinese box office in its second weekend. The film, directed by Larry Yang, has now grossed a total of $77.5 million.
The movie follows retired Macau surveillance expert Wong Tak-Chung, played by Jackie Chan, who is brought back to track down a high-tech heist carried out by a criminal mastermind known as the "Wolf King." Assisting him is rookie cop He Qiuguo, portrayed by Zhang Zifeng, as they face off against the cunning Fu Longsheng, played by Tony Leung Ka-fai, and his criminal gang.
Elsewhere on the Chinese box office charts, the animated film "Nobody" moved to second place after topping the chart last weekend. The film, directed by Yu Shui, has now grossed a cumulative $175.3 million. Meanwhile, the historical drama "Dead to Rights" continued its strong run, grossing $11.3 million and climbing to eighth place on the global chart. The film, directed by Shen Ao, follows a postman who assumes the identity of a photo developer to survive the Japanese occupation during the 1937 Nanjing Massacre.
