Summary
- Cooper Hoffman, son of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, stars in new film
- Admits his grief and trauma are on full display in his latest role
- Hopes his performance will help others who have experienced similar losses

In the two years since the release of his breakout film "Licorice Pizza," Cooper Hoffman has continued to make a name for himself in the acting world. His latest role, as Raymond Garraty in the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King's "The Long Walk," has put his personal grief and trauma on full display.
Hoffman, who was just 10 years old when his father Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away in 2014, admits that he couldn't help but see the similarities between himself and the character he portrays. "When you experience death at a young age, you think that you've experienced everything in life. And then you haven't," he explained in a recent interview.
Rather than shy away from his personal experiences, Hoffman has chosen to embrace them, using his art as a way to process his emotions and connect with others who have gone through similar losses. "If I keep hiding it and running from it, that's not fair to anyone else who has gone through that," he said. "I'm here to display this person and this experience as honestly as I can, and hopefully someone else watches it and goes, 'He sees me, he understands me.'"
Hoffman's commitment to authenticity has earned him critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination for his work in "Licorice Pizza." As he continues to navigate the challenges of the entertainment industry without his father's guidance, he remains determined to honor his legacy through his own craft.
