Gladiator II Dethrones Top Gun: Maverick on Paramount+ Global Streaming

Denzel Washington's historical action-drama Gladiator II has recently surpassed Tom Cruise's Top Gun sequel in global streaming rankings on Paramount+. The Gladiator sequel, directed by Ridley Scott, has claimed the top spot on the platform's list of the ten most popular movies streaming worldwide.

What's even more surprising is that a lesser-known film, the 2025 psychological action-drama 'Man with No Past', has managed to outrank the widely acclaimed Top Gun: Maverick, taking the second position on the Paramount+ global streaming chart. The film, starring Jon Voight, Marlon Csokas, and Adam Woodward, currently holds an IMDb rating of just 4.3/10.

Gladiator II follows the story of Lucius, the son of Maximus from the original 2000 film. Captured and sold into slavery, Lucius must rise up as a gladiator to seek revenge against the Roman emperors and fight for his freedom. The sequel has received a 70% critics' score and an 81% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the site's critics' consensus praising Denzel Washington's scene-stealing performance.
