"Futurama" Revived for Two More Seasons, Binge-Release Model Announced

The future is bright for "Futurama" fans, as the beloved animated series is set to return with an all-new season in 2025. Hulu recently announced that "Futurama" has been renewed for two more seasons, taking the show through Season 14 in 2026.

The upcoming Season 13, scheduled to premiere on September 15, 2025, will feature a binge-release model, with all 10 episodes dropping at once on the streaming platform. This marks a departure from the weekly release format used for the previous two seasons of the revival. Fans will also be able to catch the new episodes on the linear cable channel FXX, with two episodes airing per week.

In addition to the exciting release plan, the upcoming season promises to delve deeper into the backstory of the show's protagonist, Fry, and his relationship with his brother. Executive producer David X. Cohen revealed that the team will be "working that gold mine a little bit more" in the next season, giving viewers a closer look at Fry's past.

The "Futurama" panel at San Diego Comic-Con featured the show's creator, Matt Groening, as well as the executive producers and the main voice cast, who treated the audience to a table read of an upcoming episode from Season 13. The panel also revealed that San Antonio Spurs player Victor Wembanyama will make a guest appearance in the season premiere.
