Fans Disappointed as 'Kingdom' Loses Key Scenes on Netflix

In late July 2025, actor Vijay Deverakonda's fans were left disappointed when his film 'Kingdom' was released on Netflix with several crucial scenes missing from the theatrical version. The producer, Naga Vamsi, addressed the criticism, explaining that the editing decisions were made to optimize the movie's pacing and overall tone for the OTT platform.

One of the major complaints from fans was the exclusion of the romantic song 'Hridayam Lopala', which had become a viral sensation prior to the film's release. Vamsi acknowledged that many viewers, particularly couples, were upset about missing a kissing scene featuring Deverakonda. However, the producer stated that while the team had tried to include the song, it simply did not align with the film's intense narrative.

Additionally, a significant carnival fight scene, an important action sequence in the theatrical cut, was also removed from the Netflix version of 'Kingdom'. Fans argued that both the song and the fight scenes added to the film's entertainment value and depth, but the producer explained that the cuts were necessary to optimize the movie's pacing and flow for the OTT audience.

Despite the disappointment, Vamsi remained confident in the team's editing decisions, stating that the intense final 20 minutes of the film, which were preserved, were the reason the ending "only works." As 'Kingdom' continues to be available on Netflix, fans can only hope that the deleted scenes may be restored in a future release or special edition.
