20 Aug
Summary
- Actor Isaacs filmed additional full-frontal and comedic scenes that were cut
- Isaacs' character considered killing his family to spare them from financial ruin
- Isaacs received an Emmy nomination for his performance in the season finale

According to a recent interview, 'The White Lotus' actor Isaacs had filmed a number of scenes for season 3 that were ultimately cut due to time constraints. This included an additional full-frontal moment where his character, the spiraling Ratliff patriarch, flashed open his bathrobe in front of his family, much to their dismay. Isaacs was disappointed to see this comedic scene removed, as he felt it was even funnier than the one that made it into the final episodes.
Beyond the deleted full-frontal moment, Isaacs also revealed that he had filmed other "gags" for his character, such as a scene where he ran through the jungle dressed as a monk. One particular line he was sad to lose involved his character boasting about flying commercial to save the planet, rather than his usual private jet.
Perhaps most shockingly, Isaacs disclosed that his character, Tim, had contemplated killing his wife, Victoria, and even their eldest son, Saxon, before turning the gun on himself. This was in an effort to spare them from the financial ruin that awaited the family after the FBI investigated Tim's money laundering scheme. While these dark scenes were filmed, they did not make it into the final episodes.
Despite the loss of these intense and comedic moments, Isaacs' performance in the season finale has earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama. He acknowledges that the finale presented a significant acting challenge, as he had to convey a massive inner journey with limited dialogue while appearing "out of his head" for much of the season.
Ultimately, Isaacs is satisfied with how Tim's story concluded in the finale, though he acknowledges that the Ratliff family's future is uncertain. As for whether he would return for another season of 'The White Lotus,' Isaacs enthusiastically states that he would "do Mike White's shopping list in dinner theater" if given the opportunity to work with the show's creator again.
