Coolie Becomes Rajinikanth's Biggest Box Office Hit in Decades

Rajinikanth's latest film, Coolie, has become a box office sensation, shattering records and cementing the superstar's status as one of the most bankable actors in the industry. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has collected over 200 crore in just two days, making it Rajinikanth's most successful opening in a career spanning over five decades.

The film's performance has been nothing short of remarkable. Occupancy rates for Coolie have remained consistently high, with morning and afternoon shows registering 63.86% and 86.25% respectively, while the evening and night shows maintained strong numbers at 86.37% and 86.33%. In Chennai, the film's peak occupancy reached an impressive 96.50%.

Coolie's success is expected to continue, as it is already just 26 crore short of surpassing the lifetime earnings of Rajinikanth's previous blockbuster, Vettaiyan. The film is also poised to overtake other recent big releases, such as Good Bad Ugly and the pan-India film L2: Empuraan.

Rajinikanth's last blockbuster, Jailer, took three days to cross the 100 crore mark, but Coolie achieved that milestone in just two days. The film is facing competition from War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, but it remains the clear box office leader, with a significant lead in India net collections.
