25 Aug
Summary
- Vera Farmiga suffered unexplained bruises while filming The Conjuring: Last Rites
- Farmiga and co-star Patrick Wilson don't like to discuss real-life hauntings on set
- This was the final film in the Conjuring franchise for the actors

In August 2025, Vera Farmiga, the star of the Conjuring horror film franchise, opened up about the unexplained paranormal occurrences she has experienced while portraying real-life psychic researcher Lorraine Warren. Farmiga and her co-star Patrick Wilson recently wrapped filming on the final installment of the series, The Conjuring: Last Rites, and the actress shared that she has been the recipient of multiple seemingly unexplained injuries across the film series.
"Yeah, I get battered," Farmiga admitted in an exclusive interview, revealing a photo of a cross-shaped bruise on her leg that appeared during filming. "That happens every time we do it. It's just these inexplicable bruising shapes that occur on my body. It just is what it is."
However, Farmiga and Wilson have chosen not to discuss the real-life hauntings they have faced over the more than a decade of working on The Conjuring movies. "We don't like talking about it," Farmiga added. "We're caught between a rock and a hard place -- sensationalizing this and selling a movie."
