Bollywood actor R. Madhavan is making waves for his refreshingly honest approach to his career and personal life. In a candid conversation, the 53-year-old star opens up about his journey of aging gracefully and the joy he finds in playing unexpected characters.
Madhavan, who is often referred to as "Maddy" by fans and industry peers, has never shied away from embracing his natural salt-and-pepper hair, even as many of his contemporaries opt for hair dye. "Ab safed baal aa gaye toh aa gaye. I have never dyed my hair, unless it is required for a role," he shares, drawing inspiration from industry veterans like Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar.
This unapologetic self-acceptance extends to Madhavan's approach to his physique as well. While many actors flaunt chiseled abs, Madhavan is more focused on bringing out the best in himself through his craft. "I did build up a certain kind of body for Saala Khadoos (2016), where I played a boxing coach, because it was required. If a script demands, I'm ready to do what it takes," he explains.
Beyond his professional life, Madhavan's personal journey is equally inspiring. Married to Sarita since 1999, the couple has navigated the ups and downs of a 25-year relationship. "One of the best emotions for me is when we hold hands and walk quietly," he shares, finding joy in life's simplest moments.
As Madhavan continues to defy industry norms and redefine masculinity, his story serves as a testament to the power of authenticity and self-acceptance.
