Skydance Television and Prime Video's new series "The Runarounds" is a unique blend of fact and fiction, following the story of an up-and-coming high school rock band as they navigate the music industry. The show, which had its Los Angeles premiere on August 23rd, 2025, features a real-life band playing fictionalized versions of themselves.
The five-member band, consisting of William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, was handpicked by creator Jonas Pate from over 5,000 auditions for a role in the third season of his hit YA series "Outer Banks." While only Lipton had prior acting experience, thanks to his 300+ episodes on "General Hospital," the other band members have embraced the opportunity to showcase their talents both on and off the stage.
According to actress Brooklyn Decker, who also stars in the series, the level of care and support provided by the creators and crew to foster the band's acting and musical abilities is truly remarkable. The series, which has been in development for over five years, is a testament to the power of collaboration and the ability to turn a fictional story into a real-life success.
