In a highly anticipated move, Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, has made his directorial debut with the Netflix series 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood'. The seven-episode series, which premiered on September 18, 2025, follows the story of Aasmaan Singh (played by Lakshya), an ambitious newcomer with big dreams who attempts to conquer the Bollywood film industry.
Aasmaan is aided by his loyal best friend Parvaiz (Raghav Juyal), sharp-tongued manager Sanya (Anya Singh), and a supportive family, including his uncle Avtar (Manoj Pahwa), mother Neeta Singh (Mona Singh), and father Rajat Singh (Vijayant Kohli). However, Aasmaan's biggest challenge comes in the form of superstar Ajay Talvar (Bobby Deol), when he is cast opposite Talvar's daughter, Bollywood newcomer Karishma (Sahher Bambba).
The series, which has been described as a "mix of sharp one-liners and unapologetically larger-than-life moments," explores the collision of ambition and ego in the cutthroat world of Bollywood. As Aasmaan navigates the industry, he finds himself facing unexpected obstacles and the realization that "I came here to be an actor... but I never thought I'd have to do this much acting."
