Apple TV+ has announced that it has renewed the golf comedy series "Stick" for a second season. The renewal comes on the heels of the show's first season finale, which is now available for streaming.
The series' creator, Jason Keller, expressed his delight at the audience's positive reaction to the show, saying he is "inspired and humbled" by the response. Keller also noted that the second season order will provide him with more opportunities to play golf, which he clearly enjoys.
The show's star and executive producer, Owen Wilson, echoed Keller's sentiments, stating that the cast and crew "had a great time making it" and are thrilled to have the chance to "continue the story." The series follows Wilson's character, Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill former pro golfer whose career was derailed 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and while working at a sporting goods store, Pryce decides to hedge his bets on a troubled 17-year-old golf prodigy named Santi, played by Peter Dager.
The ensemble cast of "Stick" also includes Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant, as well as appearances from real-life golf superstars like Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, and Max Homa.
