Anurag Basu's Romantic Sequel 'Metro... In Dino' Premieres on Netflix

'Metro... In Dino', the spiritual successor to Anurag Basu's 2007 hit 'Life In A... Metro', is set to premiere on Netflix around 29 August 2025, approximately 45-60 days after its theatrical release on 4 July 2025. The film has captured the hearts of audiences with its emotional storytelling and soulful music since its cinema debut.

Continuing Basu's signature style, 'Metro... In Dino' weaves together the stories of four couples facing different stages of love. Aditya Roy Kapur plays Parth, a man unsure about commitment but drawn to Thumri (Sara Ali Khan), who is engaged. Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher star as Shivani and Parimal, an elderly couple reuniting after years apart. Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh's characters face the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy, while Konkona Sen Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi show a marriage struggling with distance and infidelity. Konkona Sen Sharma is the only actor from the original 2007 film to return.

The Times of India review praised the film's expansion from Mumbai to other Indian metropolises, noting that the "more cities come with more everything -- chaos, characters, songs and a massive duration of 2 hours, 42 minutes." Despite a few loose ends, the review states that Basu "pulls it off even when it looks like he's winging it," with his "conversational storytelling" keeping the film "light and breezy even in times of sorrow and distress."
