In a surprising move, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has announced that his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' will be available for streaming on his official YouTube channel, Aamir Khan Talkies: Janta Ka Theatre, starting August 1. The film, which was previously slated for an exclusive theatrical release, will now be offered as a pay-per-view feature at a viewing price of Rs 100.
Addressing the media, Aamir spoke about the evolving role of digital platforms and the convenience of electronic payments. He emphasized that theatrical releases will remain the priority, with films arriving on YouTube only after their cinema run. Aamir believes this move will empower filmmakers to make smarter creative and financial decisions, stating that "it's a win-win for both filmmakers and audiences."
This announcement comes as a surprise, as just a few months ago, Aamir had denied rumors of a digital premiere for 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. The film, directed by RS Prasanna and co-produced by Aamir, is a remake of the 2018 Spanish sports-drama 'Campeones'. It was released in theaters on June 20, 2025.
