Tiger Baby Digital LLP, the Mumbai-based production company co-founded by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, has been rocked by a significant theft.

Approximately 66 hard disks containing vital production material, including unreleased footage and completed movie data, were stolen from the company's Bandra office. This incident reportedly took place over a period of five months.

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar described the theft as an "internal job" and expressed her distress over the extent people would go for illegal gains. Despite the loss, she assured that the company had maintained backup copies, averting a larger crisis.

Investigations led police to identify Mohammed Shahid Azim Khan, an office boy, as a primary accused for allegedly stealing the disks. Ritesh Suresh Shah was identified as the second accused, allegedly involved in purchasing the stolen devices for Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 each.

Both accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. They have been remanded to police custody as the investigation continues, with authorities suspecting over 100 hard disks may be missing.
