Zendaya's Big Break: Shrek 5 & More Projects Ahead

Zendaya is slated to appear in Shrek 5, with the animated film set to premiere on June 30, 2027. Her involvement in this highly anticipated project comes after an exceptionally demanding 2026. This year alone has seen the release of her role in The Drama and the concluding season of Euphoria. Additionally, The Odyssey has recently hit theaters, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three scheduled for July 31 and December 18, respectively.

Despite the immense workload, Zendaya readily accepted the role in Shrek 5, citing her personal connection to the franchise, having grown up with the original films. However, she has also expressed a strong desire to take a break after completing her current slate of projects. This period of rest is something she feels she has earned after balancing five significant film and television commitments throughout 2026, in addition to her upcoming animated role.
