Zeenat Aman reveals Hindu name Laliteshwari

Actress Zeenat Aman recently disclosed that she carries two names, reflecting her multicultural heritage. While the world knows her as Zeenat Aman, a name derived from her father, screenwriter Amanullah Khan, her mother, Vardhini, bestowed upon her the Hindu name Laliteshwari.

Raised primarily by her mother after her parents' early separation, Aman grew up in a household where Hinduism was deeply practiced. Her mother dedicated significant time to daily prayers, shaping Aman's early life.

Despite this religious upbringing, Aman does not personally identify as religious. She explained that her life's experiences, including her father's Muslim faith and her children's father's Muslim background, alongside her own exposure to Catholicism through schooling and a German stepfather, fostered a global perspective.

Aman now defines her personal religion as humanity, emphasizing kindness, peace, equality, and love for all beings.
