Director Zack Snyder's recent visit to the Warner Bros. studio lot, five years after his departure from the studio in 2021, fueled widespread fan speculation about a potential return to DC projects. Snyder's fanbase, still active following the 10th anniversary of 'Batman v Superman,' was eager for news.

Contrary to expectations, Snyder was at Warner Bros. to host a screening of John Boorman's 1981 sword-and-sorcery film 'Excalibur' for studio staff. This event, reportedly held without cameras, aimed to provide a hero's welcome and included a Q&A session with the director, led by current studio heads Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

While the 'Excalibur' screening may not have yielded new DC content, Snyder's visit could signal progress on his previously announced remake plans for John Carpenter's 'Escape From New York.' This project is already in development with StudioCanal, and recent news suggests Warner Bros. might add it to its slate. This is further supported by a multi-year agreement between CANAL+ (StudioCanal's parent company) and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Snyder's next major directorial release, 'The Last Photograph,' is scheduled for theaters in 2027. His continued engagement with his fanbase through social media, including throwback images of Henry Cavill's Superman, keeps anticipation high.
