Zachary Quinto Dons Spock Costume for Brilliant Minds Halloween Special

In a nod to his famous Star Trek role, actor Zachary Quinto recently dressed as Spock for a Halloween special on his medical drama series Brilliant Minds. Quinto, who played the iconic half-human, half-Vulcan character in the 2009 Star Trek film and its sequels, portrayed his character Dr. Oliver Wolf as Spock, complete with the Vulcan salute.

Quinto's Brilliant Minds costar Tamberla Perry also got in on the Star Trek action, dressing her character Dr. Carol Pierce as Uhura, the communications officer played by Zoe Saldaña in the films. The two actors were seen making the Vulcan hand gesture in a short video shared by the show's producers.

According to Brilliant Minds showrunner Michael Grassi, the idea to include the Star Trek Easter egg came from the writers' room, and Quinto was "so excited" to incorporate the reference to his past work. Grassi also revealed that the elevator sound in the scene was altered as another nod to Star Trek fans.

Quinto has been open about his fondness for the Spock role, calling it an "incredible experience" and noting that he became close friends with the late Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock actor. Quinto has expressed interest in reprising the role if the opportunity arises.
