8 Oct, 2025
Summary
- Yungblud defended his Ozzy Osbourne tribute at the 2022 MTV VMAs
- Criticized by fellow musicians like The Darkness' Dan Hawkins
- Yungblud says critics are "bitter and jealous" of his connection to Ozzy

In October 2025, British musician Yungblud responded to criticism of his Ozzy Osbourne tribute performance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, had given an impassioned rendition of the Black Sabbath song "Changes" alongside members of Aerosmith at the September 2022 awards show.
The performance drew criticism from some fellow musicians, including Dan Hawkins of the British rock band The Darkness, who called it "cynical, nauseating and, more importantly, s-t." Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins also dismissed Yungblud as the "latest in a long line of - I'm sorry to say it - poseurs" who "comes off like a TV personality doing rock."
