Yungblud Slams "Bitter and Jealous" Critics of Ozzy Osbourne Tribute

In October 2025, British musician Yungblud responded to criticism of his Ozzy Osbourne tribute performance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, had given an impassioned rendition of the Black Sabbath song "Changes" alongside members of Aerosmith at the September 2022 awards show.
The performance drew criticism from some fellow musicians, including Dan Hawkins of the British rock band The Darkness, who called it "cynical, nauseating and, more importantly, s-t." Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins also dismissed Yungblud as the "latest in a long line of - I'm sorry to say it - poseurs" who "comes off like a TV personality doing rock."
However, Yungblud and Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne have now hit back at the critics. Yungblud said that "you will never see someone that's bigger or more emotionally evolved than you talk s-t on you," arguing the critics were trying to "insert themselves into a conversation to obtain some kind of relevancy" rather than honoring Ozzy's legacy. Jack Osbourne also defended Yungblud, saying the critics "didn't f-king know" the story of Yungblud's close relationship with Ozzy in his final years.
Yungblud released his fourth studio album "Idols" in June 2022, which topped the UK charts. He is also set to release a collaborative EP with Aerosmith titled "One More Time" in November 2022.
