Yung Miami has responded to criticism from actress LisaRaye McCoy regarding her summer hit song, "Spend Dat." McCoy had initially participated in the song's viral dance challenge in June. However, in an August podcast appearance, McCoy expressed her disapproval of the song's theme, stating it glorified inappropriate content and that she regretted her initial participation.

Months later, Yung Miami addressed McCoy's comments on the October 14 episode of The Morning Hustle. Miami called out McCoy for hypocrisy, drawing a parallel between "Spend Dat" and McCoy's own 1998 film, "The Players Club." The music video for "Spend Dat" was notably a strip club-themed homage to the film, in which McCoy starred.
