Yash Raj Films (YRF), a prominent Indian entertainment studio, has unveiled Raah Records, a new music company and incubator. This venture is designed to discover, nurture, and support original artists, fostering long-term creative careers independent of film music.
Raah Records signifies an expansion of YRF's music business, adapting to India's evolving music ecosystem. The company prioritizes artist development, original music creation, and career building through a dedicated platform. CEO Akshaye Widhani emphasized Raah Records' focus on long-term creative partnerships rather than short-term campaigns.
Operating as a creative partner, Raah Records employs an incubator model, working closely with emerging musicians. Nakul Sharma leads the label, overseeing artist development, A&R strategy, and distribution. Sharma stated the label provides artists with the time, trust, and space to grow.
The first release under Raah Records is 'Jaadugari' by artist Aman. The song marks the beginning of Aman's journey with the label after a year of collaborative work to refine his artistic voice. 'Jaadugari' will be accessible on major audio streaming platforms from August 5th onwards.
With Raah Records, YRF aims to establish a lasting home for original artists, investing in their creative development and enabling independent voices to forge significant musical careers. Further artist signings and releases are anticipated in the coming months.
