29 Sep
Summary
- Thug and Gunna have distanced themselves since plea deals in YSL RICO case
- Thug says he can't look at Gunna the same way after the case
- Thug feels Gunna's plea deal was a betrayal of their friendship

In a recent interview, Young Thug has revealed the deep rift that has formed between him and his former protégé Gunna since their involvement in the YSL RICO case. Thug, who remained behind bars until reaching a plea deal in October 2024, has not been in contact with Gunna since his release.
Gunna, who secured his release from jail in December 2022 through an Alford plea that saw him admit YSL is a gang, has been a source of pain for Thug. "I'm not gonna be able to look at [Gunna] the same no matter what," Thug said. "We can go get a trillion dollars together. I'm not gonna be able to look at you the way I looked at you before we went to jail."
Thug feels that Gunna's plea deal was a betrayal of their close friendship, which went beyond just a business relationship. "The only reason why I'm looking at it like some bullsh-- is because you my brother," he explained. "On top of that, you my man, you my best friend." Thug believes that Gunna prioritized his career over their personal bond.

Going forward, Thug has made it clear that he has no desire to reconcile with Gunna, even if they were to cross paths. "If I be around [you] and be happy and pretend, I'mma just feel like a f--n-- a," he said. "I'mma feel like not a real person. I gotta be real, bruh." Thug says he will wish Gunna the best, but they will be going their separate ways.
