Young Sheldon Star Iain Armitage Stuns Fans with Mature Makeover

On October 1st, 2025, 17-year-old actor Iain Armitage, best known for his role as young Sheldon Cooper in the hit TV series Young Sheldon, surprised his fans with a series of Instagram selfies that showcased a strikingly more mature side of the actor.

The photos, posted just last weekend, feature Armitage wearing round, silver-framed glasses and making a playful kissy face at the camera. Captioning the snaps as "Incomprehensible drip from 1823," the young actor's sophisticated new look has left his longtime viewers in awe.

Many fans have been quick to draw Hollywood comparisons, with several likening Armitage's appearance to a young Tom Cruise, especially echoing the actor's charm during his Top Gun era. "The next Tom Cruise," one fan declared, while another gushed, "Why do I see a bit of Tom Cruise from Top Gun here???"

Beyond the comparisons, Armitage's transformation has also left his fans feeling proud. As one follower summed it up, "We all watched you grow from an adorable kiddo with lots of sass to a handsome young man with a bright future. I think we're all feeling proud of you in our hearts."

The change in Armitage's appearance is particularly meaningful for audiences who have followed him since Young Sheldon premiered in 2017, when he was just 9 years old. Over the past seven seasons, fans have witnessed the actor blossom on screen, and his latest selfies seem to mark the beginning of a new chapter in his career.
