Ye Apologizes to Jewish Community, Seeks Accountability

On November 1st, 2025, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) met with Rabbi Yoshiayao Yosef Pinto to apologize for his previous antisemitic comments about the Jewish community. Ye acknowledged that he had been "dealing with various issues, including bipolar," and took responsibility for his actions, saying he needed to "clean up the kitchen, clean up the living room, clean up the garage."

The Chicago-born rapper expressed his desire to take accountability and repair his relationship with the Jewish community, stating that these were the "first steps" in building "brick-by-brick" for the "strong walls" needed. Rabbi Pinto, the leader of the Shuva Israel institutions, responded positively, saying "a person is not defined by his mistakes, but by the way he chooses to correct them."

Ye's inflammatory remarks in 2022, including a tweet about going "death con 3" on Jewish people, had resulted in several corporations cutting ties with him. While he has continued to release music, Ye has not performed a concert in the U.S. this year, though he has lined up shows in South Korea, South Africa, and Mexico in the coming months.
