Friendship over release dates: Yash helps Varun Dhawan secure spot
4 May
Summary
- Yash's film 'Toxic' faced multiple release date postponements.
- Varun Dhawan's 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' regained its original date.
- A close friendship between Yash and Varun Dhawan influenced release changes.

The film 'Toxic', starring Yash, experienced significant release date shifts starting in early March. Initially slated for a March 19 release, it was first postponed to June 4 due to Middle East tensions. This change prompted the makers of 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', starring Varun Dhawan, to push their film from June 5 to June 12.
Further complicating matters, reports emerged suggesting 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' might be preponed to May 22. However, 'Toxic's' release was then indefinitely delayed, leading to 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' reclaiming its original June 5 slot just last week.
Producer Ramesh Taurani explained that the close friendship between Yash and Varun Dhawan was instrumental. Yash had assured Varun he would be informed of any further changes to 'Toxic's' release date. Upon learning of the indefinite delay, Yash promptly notified Varun, allowing 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' to revert to its initial June 5 release date, chosen eight months prior.
