During a television appearance, Yash was asked about the simultaneous release of KGF and Zero. He humorously dismissed the notion that the clash was a strategic move or an attempt to meet Shah Rukh Khan. Yash emphasized that KGF's scale was considerably smaller than Zero's.
The two films, released on December 21, 2018, experienced vastly different commercial trajectories. KGF, a Kannada-language film, became a pan-India phenomenon, grossing approximately ₹250 crore globally. In contrast, Zero had a more modest run, earning around ₹100 crore worldwide.
Yash remains grounded, stating that film earnings do not influence his perception of established stars. He reiterated his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, asserting that he would never consider himself superior to his seniors in the industry.
Looking ahead, Yash is preparing for his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, slated for release on August 28. He is also set to portray Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's two-part epic Ramayana, with the first installment expected in Diwali 2026.
