A semi-detached home on Hob Moor Road in Yardley has been spectacularly transformed into a full-fledged Halloween haunted house, complete with monsters, skeletons, and vampires. This elaborate attraction, initiated by Darren Mackenzie and Karen Pearce, now fills their entire property, including the front driveway, garage, garden, and downstairs toilet, with spooky animatronics and volunteer actors.
While entry is free, the event encourages optional donations to Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a mental health charity. Darren Mackenzie, who has personally funded the entire setup, shared that the cause is deeply personal due to his own mental health struggles. The goal is to spread smiles and support the charity, with all contributions aiding CALM.
The haunted house is open every Friday and Saturday night from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, continuing until October 31st. Visitors have lauded the attraction for providing an exciting and cost-effective Halloween experience for children and adults alike, describing it as 'absolutely insane' and 'brilliant'.
