The upcoming YA romance film, 'The One Before The One,' has finalized its principal cast, with Jack Champion and Grace Van Dien in leading roles. The production, which wrapped in Austin, Texas last month, is written and directed by Brittany Sarkisian.
The story centers on Steven, a burnt-out analyst who returns to his hometown for his high school reunion. He finds himself sent back to his senior year and reunited with his former love, Beth. Champion's character is driven to alter his past.
Steven also aims to help his best friend Brian secure a football scholarship and reconnect with his friend Katie. The film is set against a backdrop of late-90s nostalgia, evoking the era of Nokia phones, alt-rock music, and the looming Y2K panic.
'The One Before The One' was produced by Sarkisian and Jaylen Moore for Showmance Productions. The film was previously slated to feature Charlie Gillespie, Sara Waisglass, and Siena Augudong before scheduling conflicts led to the current cast.
