London's theatre scene is set to welcome 'World's Greatest Lover,' a vibrant pop-rock musical originating from Broadway. The production features a star-studded cast including X Factor champions Matt Terry and Dalton Harris, alongside Jaymi Hensley of boyband Union J. This spring, The Other Palace will host the show that pits history's most famous romantics against each other in a quest to define the ultimate lover.
Matt Terry, known for his post-X Factor success with over 250 million artist streams, expressed his excitement for a show celebrating love, noting the incredible music as a key draw. He described the score as a perfect blend of pop concert and musical theatre, promising massive vocals and hummable tunes. Terry, who has prior theatre credits, will portray 'CDB' in the production.
Jaymi Hensley, who will play 'Sade,' finds the show's timing meaningful, given its focus on joy and connection. He praised the exceptional, feel-good pop music designed to lift the entire theatre. Hensley looks forward to audiences escaping their worries for a couple of hours in a show he deems funny, glamorous, and heartfelt. This musical follows acclaimed runs in New York and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025.
Dalton Harris, another X Factor victor, also brings his performance experience to the stage. The narrative promises a collision of iconic lovers like Romeo, Casanova, Cyrano de Bergerac, and the Marquis de Sade. The musical's exploration of love and connection resonates deeply, especially as Hensley recently experienced personal tragedy, having lost his fiancé in August 2024.
