WOW Goes Live: Jeanie Buss Steps Up!

Women Of Wrestling (WOW) is set to revolutionize its presentation with its fifth season, featuring the league's first live broadcast. This significant shift will originate from L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, establishing a new standard for WOW's marquee events as part of an enhanced live strategy. Co-owner and promoter Jeanie Buss is deepening her involvement by taking on a more prominent on-camera role.

Buss expressed that this season is "personal in a new way," inviting fans to witness a previously unseen side of WOW. She emphasized her lifelong commitment to advocating for women's visibility and respect in male-dominated spaces, with WOW serving as a crucial platform for women in wrestling. This development aligns with the broader "real moment" for women's sports.

Founded by David McLane, WOW remains the sole all-women's wrestling league featured on television. The league has achieved remarkable success, boasting a 93% audience return rate per season and a 96% increase in social media following since its inception. The initial four seasons were distributed nationally via syndication by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

David McLane highlighted that broadcasting live from L.A. LIVE will dramatically enhance the viewer experience, promising bigger moments and the palpable energy of a live crowd. He views this as the beginning of a larger initiative, including an annual calendar of major events that will position WOW as a premier destination in sports entertainment.

Andrew Simon, General Manager of L.A. LIVE, welcomed WOW to the venue, recognizing its status as a distinctive and exciting brand in sports entertainment. He praised Buss and McLane for creating a unique property that blends athletic prowess, entertainment, and inspiring narratives appealing to all ages. L.A. LIVE's reputation for hosting top-tier live events makes it an ideal stage for WOW's continued expansion.
