Polish production company Lightcraft is extending its animated film 'Wonderland' into a two-season television series, set to launch in early 2027. The series will feature Louis Serkis, son of Andy Serkis, in a lead role. It continues the story after the events of the feature film, exploring new narrative arcs and deepening the established universe across multiple worlds.
Developed with a 2.5D visual approach, the series proudly boasts 100% human-made animation, a deliberate choice by director Daniel Markowicz. Lightcraft highlights that this method ensures an authentic, heartfelt connection with the audience, differentiating it from AI-generated productions. The production team includes artists who have contributed to major animated and live-action films.
German distributor Kinostar will present the series at the Marché du Film in Cannes. Lightcraft views 'Wonderland' as a long-term global intellectual property, with plans for further stories within the universe and other animated projects. The series aims for a broad family audience, blending adventure, humor, and emotion.
