CD Projekt has announced that "Songs of the Past," a third story expansion for its popular game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," is scheduled for release in 2027. This upcoming content is designed to fill the time until the company's next major title, though its release date has caused some market concern.
The expansion will feature Geralt of Rivia and is being co-developed with Fool's Theory, a studio that includes experienced developers from the original "Witcher 3." It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," first released in 2015, has achieved remarkable success, selling over 60 million copies and winning more than 250 Game of the Year awards. This new expansion aims to build upon that legacy.
CD Projekt is also working on other projects, including "Witcher 4," the second installment of its Cyberpunk franchise, and two additional titles codenamed Sirius and Hadar. Further information about "Songs of the Past" is anticipated this summer.
