The Royal Mint has introduced a new collectible 50p coin featuring Winnie-the-Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger. This release culminates a special three-coin series created in partnership with The Walt Disney Company, dedicated to celebrating a century of Winnie-the-Pooh.
The series began by honouring kindness, followed by loyalty, and now concludes with the theme of friendship. These designs are inspired by AA Milne's classic stories set in the Hundred Acre Wood, which have resonated with audiences for many years.
Available from Thursday in silver proof colour and brilliant uncirculated colour editions, with prices starting at £15. Lucy Mackenzie from The Royal Mint emphasized the characters' lasting influence on childhoods globally, bringing comfort and joy.
Mackenzie also noted the significance of this final coin in the collection, especially as it celebrates friendship, a core element of the stories. She expressed hope that the coin captures the magic of Pooh and his friends, becoming a treasured keepsake.
