A special raffle in Paris offers a rare opportunity to win a Picasso masterpiece, "Head of a Woman," painted in 1941, for the price of a 100-euro ticket. This event, scheduled for Tuesday at Christie's auction house, will direct all proceeds toward Alzheimer's research.
The Alzheimer Research Foundation, the beneficiary, has been a leading private financier of Alzheimer's medical research in France since its establishment in 2004. This initiative follows two previous successful Picasso raffles in 2013 and 2020, which collectively raised over 10 million euros for different charitable endeavors.
Organizers anticipate that if all 120,000 tickets are sold, the raffle could generate 12 million euros, with 1 million euros allocated to the art dealership that owns the painting. The artwork will be on display at Christie's galleries in Paris starting Monday.
