Magnolia Pictures has secured the U.S. distribution rights for "Late Fame," the latest cinematic work from director Kent Jones. This acclaimed film, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival before screening at the New York Film Festival, is slated for a 2026 release.
Penned by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Samy Burch, "Late Fame" features Willem Dafoe as Ed Saxberger, a once-celebrated New York poet now working in a post office. The narrative unfolds as he encounters a group of young admirers who hail him as a rediscovered genius, drawing him into their intoxicating circle.
Dafoe is joined by Greta Lee and Edmund Donovan in the cast. The film's acquisition by Magnolia Pictures was highlighted by co-CEOs Eamonn Bowles and Dori Begley, who praised Jones' artistic vision and Dafoe's performance, signaling a significant release for the project.
