Returning production designer Nathan Crowley explored new Oz landscapes in Wicked: For Good, moving beyond Shiz University to encompass vast, epic journeys. The team crafted Elphaba's forest hideaway using actual interwoven branches and wood, aiming for an organic, flowing aesthetic.
In stark contrast, Kiamo Ko, a castle belonging to Fiyero's family, was designed to defy physics. Inspired by ancient magic and the Grimmerie, it features upside-down arches and appears to float, reflecting the film's magical elements.
For Glinda's apartment, the design embraced a softer, romantic Art Deco style, drawing from Hollywood's golden age. This symmetrical set, featuring dual staircases and mirrors, was essential for executing complex camera shots and symbolic transitions.
