In an exclusive announcement, it has been revealed that Wicked City star Shaquita Smith will lead the psychological thriller Janice Doe, produced by Mann Robinson Studios. The film, directed by Mann Robinson, follows a woman named Nissassa Live whose life descends into chaos after a series of violent events, leading to a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation.
Robinson is billing the project as an exploration of "the fine line between sanity and delusion, guilt and survival." Janice Doe is set to begin shooting in the first quarter of 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia, with a theatrical release targeted for late 2026 or early 2027.
Smith, who is coming off a breakout role in the AMC drama Wicked City, will also serve as an executive producer on the project. Last year, it was reported that she would executive produce and star in the indie film Voyage of the Forgotten. Further casting for Janice Doe is currently underway.
