The Warehouse Project, a cornerstone of Manchester's club scene, is commemorating its 20th anniversary with a series of special projects. A six-minute documentary, "Twenty Years In Manchester," directed by Leigh Powis, will explore UK dance music through archival footage and interviews, receiving a wide release soon.
An outdoor art exhibition on Manchester's The Avenue, Spinningfields, will commence in July. This exhibition complements a new podcast and a print magazine delving into the club's significant history and influence on the Manchester music scene. A compilation album celebrating two decades of music is also slated for release.
These commemorative events lead into The Warehouse Project's 2026 season, set to begin on September 18. The season will feature performances by artists such as Ki/Ki, Interplanetary Criminal, Hannah Laing, Solomun, Duke Dumont, Overmono, and Tiësto. Many sets from the season will be exclusively available on Apple Music, with some streamed live for free via Apple Music Club.
WHP founders Sam Kandel and Richard McGinnis expressed pride in reaching this milestone, emphasizing the club's commitment to progression and adaptation since its opening night featuring Public Enemy in 2006. The club has hosted numerous renowned artists and expanded with international editions in various cities.
