Cage's Son Faces Court for Mental Health Check
24 Feb
Summary
- Weston Cage attended a court hearing and mental health check-in on Monday.
- The hearing relates to an alleged assault on his mother in April 2024.
- He is participating in a two-year mental health diversion program.

Weston Coppola Cage, the 35-year-old son of actor Nicolas Cage, was present in a downtown Los Angeles court on Monday for a scheduled hearing and mental health check-in. These proceedings are part of an ongoing legal case initiated by an alleged assault on his mother, actress Christina Fulton, 58, which occurred outside her Southern California apartment on April 28, 2024. Weston had previously agreed to a court deal in April 2025, which mandated his entry into a two-year mental health diversion program. This was offered as an alternative to facing felony assault charges, acknowledging his "skewed state of mind" at the time of the incident.
During the April 2025 hearing, Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monguia noted that Weston suffered from an "eligible mental health disorder" that significantly contributed to the offenses. Christina Fulton was also present at Monday's legal proceedings. She recounted that on April 28, 2024, she went to assist her son, who was reportedly experiencing a "manic rage," and subsequently sustained "serious injuries" during a "brutal assault." Fulton described the attack as "crushing" and "suffocating," including having her eye socket jammed. She emphasized her fear and concern over Weston's "on-going mental health crisis," pleading for him to receive necessary help.
