West Yorkshire's burgeoning creative sector is actively seeking local talent, with Production Park in South Kirkby highlighting the exciting career opportunities available. This expansive 100,000 sq ft facility, renowned for hosting international music icons like Beyoncé, Pink, and Coldplay for rehearsals, is urgently appealing for skilled professionals from the immediate vicinity.
Rachel Nicholson of the Academy of Live Technology emphasized that a career in the entertainment industry is achievable without relocating to London, stating, "You do not need to go down to London to have a career in the entertainment industry." Production Park's Studio 1, Europe's first arena-sized rehearsal space, has been a hub for global acts since 2005.
The push for local employment is supported by West Yorkshire's "Creative Industries Cluster Action Plan," launched in September, which aims to boost the region's creative economy from £2.2 billion to £4.1 billion by 2035. This plan includes creating 50,000 new jobs and improving access to skills training and finance, underscoring the region's commitment to fostering local talent.
