In a recent development, actor Wes Bentley has been tapped to join the cast of the FX series adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' novel "The Shards." Bentley, known for his roles in "American Beauty," "Interstellar," and the hit Paramount Network drama "Yellowstone," will appear alongside previously announced cast members Kaia Gerber, Igby Rigney, Homer Gere, Graham Campbell, and Hayes Warner.
According to sources, Bentley will play the role of Terry, the father of a character named Debbie, who will be portrayed by Hayes Warner. The series, which is a horror novel, centers on a fictional serial killer operating in 1980s Los Angeles, while also incorporating semi-autobiographical details from Ellis' own upbringing.
The news of Bentley's involvement comes as FX continues to develop the highly anticipated project, which was first reported to be in the works back in May. Ryan Murphy, the acclaimed producer behind shows like "American Horror Story," is executive producing the series through his production company, Ryan Murphy Productions. Max Winkler is attached to direct and executive produce, while Ellis is also an executive producer, along with Nick Hall, Kathleen McCaffrey, and Brian Young.
With Bentley's addition to the cast, "The Shards" is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers and Ellis' distinctive storytelling style.
