Summary
- Music from Wes Anderson's films is celebrated in live concerts.
- Iconic songs like 'These Days' and 'Ooh La La' will be performed.
- A diverse lineup of musicians and the L.A. Phil will feature.

For three decades, music has been an integral element in Wes Anderson's films, shaping their distinct quirky, tragic, and whimsical tones. Now, the scores and needle drops from his entire movie catalog, from "Bottle Rocket" to "The Phoenician Scheme," are taking center stage in a special concert series at the Hollywood Bowl. The event commenced on Friday night with two additional performances scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Jackson Browne is among the featured performers, singing "These Days," famously used in "The Royal Tenenbaums." Other artists like Beck, Mark Mothersbaugh, Devo, Jim James, Rufus Wainwright, Karen O, and Jenny Lewis are also on the bill. The L.A. Phil will perform select scores by Anderson's composers, Mark Mothersbaugh and Alexandre Desplat. Bill Murray is serving as the emcee for the shows.
Collaborator Jason Schwartzman highlighted the profound impact of music in Anderson's creative process. He described how Anderson would play soundtracks in order, explaining scenes through the music, effectively treating songs as "another actor" in the film. This intentional use of music, alongside visuals and costumes, helps inform character development and storytelling within Anderson's distinctive cinematic universe.
