Way Dynamic's Sound Captures International Ear

Melbourne's own Dylan Young, performing as Way Dynamic, is achieving significant international recognition. His 2025 album, "Massive Shoe," is scheduled for a global re-release by indie label Jagjaguwar, signaling a major step in his career. Young's music, characterized by warm analogue textures, gentle vocals, and thoughtful lyricism, has garnered praise from prominent figures including Elton John and Zane Lowe.

Having spent the past year extensively touring the US and Europe, with many shows selling out, Young attributes his success to a gradual build-up and a commitment to his own creative vision. He highlights the invaluable role of his bandmates, drawn from various Melbourne music projects, in shaping the sound of Way Dynamic.

Young's musical journey began in Ballarat, influenced by artists discovered through "Rage." After moving to Melbourne at 18, he honed his craft playing in numerous bands. His early twenties saw him exploring jazz and bossa nova, leading to the release of his first Way Dynamic album in 2022. He actively seeks to capture the intimacy of past recording techniques, focusing on immediacy and allowing for imperfections to enhance the music.
